A Motor Underwriting Manager with an actuary and sales background bridges technical risk analysis with commercial business development. This role is responsible for ensuring the motor portfolio is both profitable (via actuarial pricing and risk selection) and competitive (via sales strategy and broker relationships). lead a team to underwrite, price, and grow the motor portfolio, often collaborating closely with actuarial, sales, and claims departments

Duties and Responsibilities:
Portfolio Strategy & Profitability: Manage and steer motor underwriting results, utilizing Management Information (MI) and KPIs to analyze production, loss experience, and rate adequacy.
Actuarial/Technical Underwriting: Work closely with the actuarial team to review pricing models, develop rate methodologies, and ensure technical profitability. This includes evaluating risk factors such as vehicle type, driver history, and claims data.
Sales & Business Development: Collaborate with management to develop underwriting and sales strategies, negotiate with brokers and agents, and build a productive pipeline.
Team Leadership & Management: Lead, train, and mentor a team of underwriters to ensure accurate and timely risk assessment.
Guideline & Policy Development: Develop and implement underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures to manage risk appetite.
Reinsurance & Compliance: Determine appropriate reinsurance needs and ensure all business complies with regulatory standard

متطلبات الوظيفة:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing or equivalent field.
Experience: 15 years in motor handling, with experience in managing a team
Actuarial Skills: Experience in pricing, loss ratio analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
Sales/Market Acumen: Proven experience in brokering, relationship management, and driving business growth.
Management Experience: At least 5–7 years in a management or leadership role.
Certifications: ACII/FCII (Chartered Insurance Institute)
